The Force Quit and Re-launch
Many times Safari becomes so unresponsive that you cannot quit it from the File menu. Force Quitting is required in this situation:
- Press Command+Option+Escape. A Force Quit menu will appear.
- Click on “Safari” and select “Force Quit”
- After a minute, Safari will be forced to exit and the system recovers.
- Re-launch Safari and start browsing as usual
Fix Specific Safari Web Content (Not Responding) Processes
For more advanced Mac users, there is Activity Monitor application. See below steps:
- Open “Activity Monitor” from /Applications/Utilities
- Go to the CPU or Memory tab and look for any red “Safari Web Content (Not Responding)” processes
- Click the (X) button in the toolbar. It will kill the selected process
- Repeat above steps for other stuck red “Safari Web Content (Not Responding)” processes also.
- Exit out of Activity Monitor
